Which dice are supported?

All the standard RPG dice: d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 and d100. You can combine them in any way, e.g. 1d20+5, 3d6+2 or 4d10.

Which dice notation works?

Standard pen-&-paper notation: NdM (e.g. 3d6) with an optional modifier (+2, -1) and multiple terms (3d6+1d4+5). Keep-highest (4d6kh3) and keep-lowest (2d20kl1, i.e. disadvantage) are supported too.

Does the site store my rolls or data?

Accepted Answer

No. History, saved formulas and settings stay only in your browser (localStorage). Nothing is sent to a server. We don’t use our own tracking cookies; only Google AdSense serves ads — with a consent banner for EU users.

Question 4

Does dice-roll.online work for DSA (Das Schwarze Auge)?

Yes. For DSA skill checks you can roll 1d20 three times, or use 3d20 as a single roll. Damage rolls like 1d6+4 or 2d6+2 work the same as in D&D.

What do the crit and fumble highlights mean?

On a 1d20, a 20 is highlighted as a critical hit (green) and a 1 as a fumble (red). In the settings you can flip which side counts as the crit — useful for systems where lower is better.

Is dice-roll.online truly random?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We use crypto.getRandomValues — the browser’s cryptographically secure RNG — instead of the weaker Math.random(). The distribution is noticeably more uniform than most physical dice.
